How I long to hold and kiss you
To feel the fullness of your lips
To thrill as your press against me
While your hand downward slips
The coolness of your gentle touch
As heat builds with each caress
The love I feel for you right now
Will put all others to the test
But hark I hear a wild bird in song
I smell the scent of nature’s call
Can something this good be wrong?
Can I succumb and still stand tall
Whenever the gods cast a spell
It was not as strong as yours
And I am merely mortal man
Beguiled by your mystic lore
Surrender never tasted so sweet
Nor has lust reaped such a goal
Thus I die the little death my love
But I ask is this too high a toll?
Love built on deceit and lies
Can be sweet but very wrong
For it ourselves who we deceive
As we join that cheating throng
Hold me awhile before the dawn
Hold me close to your breast
Let us now feel just a little joy
Before we face that awful test
